Defining Horror Poetry

While poetry has many sub-genres, one of the sparsest is horror poetry. The most famous horror poem is Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven, but many others exist, including whole collections of the genre.

In this workshop, we’ll read and discuss examples of horror poems and work with prompts to craft our own. We’ll also work to define the fine line between a horror poem and a horror short story.
