This 6-week class is for both beginners and more experienced playwrights. Students will come away with a completed short play and a better understanding of how to hone their imagination into a structured piece of dramatic writing. Each week, we’ll explore a different playwriting element, including structure, characters, setting, action, and style. Lessons will be a combination of readings, interactive conversations, and generative writing exercises. As students work on their short plays, there will be time to share and receive guided feedback. The only requirements are an open mind and a sense of play. Writers of all genres are welcome!
