This six-week poetry course taught by Emma Berdanier is all about forming a deeper connection with language by asking tailored questions to a subject matter.
Individual poems often live on their own and never become part of a larger work. How can poets find the inspiration to write a collection of poems related to one another? In this course, we’ll generate multiple poems connected by a thread, whether it’s a subject, a color, an image, or even an answer to a created list of questions. Together, we’ll examine multiple aspects of poetry, including how poems in collections work in harmony and how starting with a series of questions can help form the beginning stages of a work.
Please come ready to share your work, be respectful to others, and help create an environment of trust as we investigate the secrets of writing poetry.
This course will be held over Zoom and you will need access to Google Drive to share materials.
