The Body of Our Poetry: Foundations

all times in Pacific
all labs on Zoom

In this introductory workshop to the foundations of poetry, we'll learn how poetry is a body of creative expression made up of certain elements. We’ll explore these basic elements at length through figurative language, repetition, rhythm & rhyme, lines, stanzas & lineation. We’ll then see these elements in action through reading one of Dr. Maya Angelou's most famous poems "Still I Rise” We’ll deepen the learning of figurative language by engaging the senses through a writing prompt. There will also be time for sharing and discussing our work.

Led by Pamela "Jaz" Banks

All of our labs are free! If you like what you experience, please consider donating or throw a virtual tip our way. A suggested donation for this workshop is $25.
