Inside the Shell: the Art of Hermit Crab Essays

all times in Pacific
all labs on Zoom

The Hermit Crab essay is a piece of nonfiction that appropriates another form. The chosen form becomes the shell for personal stories, especially those that are harder to tell.

Join us to explore the myriad of "shells" our writing can be contained in such as emails, receipts, intake forms, and rejection letters. In this workshop, we’ll examine and discuss several "hermit crab essays" and learn to create our own!
